The Letters and Things is a podcast hosted by Manette Faith and Sam Thompson that began with a simple idea: let's go through the giant archive of letters, memoirs, photographs, newspaper clippings, and assorted nonsense saved by Manette's grandparents and see what happens.

What happens, it turns out, is a lot.

What started as archival hoarded grandparent material quickly spiraled into family history, American history, U.S. presidents, ships (boats), an undying love of the USPS, and whatever other week-ruining rabbit hole that presents itself. Part family archive, part history project, part book report, and part "I would like to speak to the manager?", The Letters and Things follows the threads of the past wherever they lead.
